Physician – Employment Opportunity

Casual, Part-time, and Full-time opportunities

Various locations across New Brunswick

Increased access to Primary care is a key initiative in a series of actions designed to stabilize the health care system and position it for long-term sustainability. In collaboration with EM/ANB inc., Medavie Health Services New Brunswick is responsible to design, build and implement a provincial Network – NB Health Link - that will provide timely and coordinated access to Citizens without a primary care provider.

Eligible Physicians will provide care in person or virtually in a professional practice environment that maximizes physician productivity while reducing risk, saving time, and lowering costs to physicians. The model addresses the administrative pains points, such as scheduling, office paperwork, and personnel management. In doing this, we aim to reduce visit wait times and free you to see more patients.

The General Practice physician will be a key member of a primary care clinical team. They will be part of the core clinical team and liaise with colleagues across the province to understand how NB Health Link can complement the health system and relieve strain while providing quality care in a temporary medical home for patients without equitable or timely access to primary care.

Role: To provide equitable and timely access to care in a temporary medical home for residents that do not have a family physician.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Fee-for-Service care within the network.
  • Provide administrative support in a clinical setting.
    • Provide clinical guidance to network staff pertaining to care plans and follow-up protocol.
    • Develop and support clinical best practice standards and guidelines within the network.
    • Participate in RHA Dept. Family Practice and Medical Staff meetings.
  • Present the Network to the RHAs and identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Provide support to the Extra-Mural for admitted patients to maintain effective continuous care.
  • Collaborate with the RHAs and develop strong relationships across the organization to support network staff in finding patients a permanent medical home.

Eligibility:

All physicians must be licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick; have been granted privileges with a Regional Health Authority; and have completed and returned the Medicare Practitioner Registration Form to New Brunswick Medicare. Applicants will be reviewed in collaboration with the Regional Health Authorities to ensure the program is meeting the need of the patients while supporting the needs of the health system at large.

Commitment:

There are two employment opportunities available:

  1. Part-time and Full-time options
  2. Casual options over and above existing contract responsibility with the RHAs. Minimum commitments of 4 hours a week.
