Information for patients regarding the transition of NB Health Link

On June 18, the Government of New Brunswick announced its decision to fully transfer NB Health Link primary care services and clinics to the Regional Health Authorities – Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network.

The transfer to Horizon and Vitalité is expected to begin in September 2026 and be completed by March 2027. The unattached patient waitlist is expected to transition to the Department of Health by December 2026.

Medavie Health Services New Brunswick and the Department of Health will work in close collaboration to ensure an orderly transition of responsibilities and safeguard continuity of care for patients. Patient safety and quality of care will remain core components and foundational aspects of any transition of services.

At this time, you do not need to take any action. If you are currently receiving care or services, you will continue to receive the care and follow-up you need. There will be no interruption to your care during or following the transition. If you are on the waitlist for a primary care provider, there is no change to the process.

While details are still being finalized, we can confirm that what is outlined above is the most current information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
